Famine, diseases.

Despite the development of the newest technologies in the domains of cultivating plants and animals, the Word Has been suffering from a shortage of agricultural production. This phenomena takes place especially in those countries with a low level of technology production, which are known as “dark land countries”. Low quality and quantity agrarian production, no industrialization, poor standards of hygiene and difficult climactic conditions in these countries, result in a fast spread of famine and diseases which bring about a constantly growing death rate.

The problem which is being discussed also occurs in the highly developed countries. Here, however, the diseases are of a different nature and are known as civilization disease. The new means of mass production which are being used, such as genetic engineering, modification of plants and animals, feeding farm animals with artificial fodder to fatten them up, cause mass diseases among animals which are later passed on to people.

The climactic changes, both in the dark land countries as well as those highly developed ones, cause floods. Water which is transported from one place to another during a flood, as well as mosquitoes which develop then, carry viruses and bacteria which spread various kinds of diseases among people and animals. The more serious ones result in death of living organisms.

Climactic changes result in the spread of Tick-borne encephalitis.

TBE is an important infectious disease in many parts of Europe, the former Soviet Union, and Asia. The annual number of cases (incidence) varies from year to year, but several thousand are reported annually, despite historical under-reporting of this disease. For example in The Czech Republic, the number of TBE has grown dramatically within the last 10 years. There were about 2596 cases of TBE reported in the years 1986 – 1995, whereas over 5892 cases were reported in the years 1996 – 2005. The phenomenon of TBE Virus is probably caused by the global warming which has been observed recently. Ticks occur in regions which are completely new for them, where they have never been before or to regions where the virus was not registered within many years. TBE cases occur during the highest period of tick activity, when humans are infected in rural areas through tick bites. Infection also may follow consumption of raw milk from goats, sheep, or cows. Laboratory infections were common before the use of vaccines and availability of biosafety precautions to prevent exposure to infectious aerosols. Person-to-person transmission has not been reported. Vertical transmission from an infected mother to fetus has occurred.

Effects of global warming on people’s health.

SUNSTROKES
Waves of heat which nowadays occur with a greater frequency than it used to be in the past, result in a greater number of sunstrokes, especially among the elderly and the ill.

 SUFFERING CAUSED BY WEATHER CONDITIONS

Changes in the climate bring about changes in the weather. Due to the more frequent occurrence of extreme weather conditions which has been noticed recently, it is sure that the number of people who suffered from thunderstorms and floods has also increased.

DISEASES SPREAD BY THE PROPAGATING INSECTS.

The changing climate which is getting warmer and warmer, is a favorable condition for the spread of diseases which are carried by mosquitoes, ticks, snails, birds and other animals. Some examples of such diseases are: Deng’s fever, yellow fever, Tick-borne encephalitis, Avian Influenza (Bird Flu), malaria. The last one mentioned kills from 1 to 3 million people in Africa every year. To make matters worse, children are the major victims.

BLOOD CIRCULATION PROBLEMS

The constantly growing temperature results in suffering of those people whose blood circulatory system is disturbed. A lot of these people suffer from problems such as: heart attacks, strokes, higher blood pressure.

SKIN PROBLEMS

The reduction of the ozone layer causes that people are under the influence of the dangerous for humans’ skin ultraviolet rays ( UVB) A lot of those who in their childhood were in regions where the ozone hole was observed, suffer from skin and eye problems in their adulthood.
